A note from the field ...
Steve Scott, VP of Information Technology and Mobile Response Team member

"Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to work on the front line of eyecare in one of our mobile clinics. The duty station that day was Linda, Calif., near Marysville.

I joined two veteran and very capable Mobile Response Team members, Kim Rankin and Niki Myers, and two doctors from the local area, Dr. David Bradley of Yuba City and Dr. Michael Ferretti of Oroville.

After receiving training on the equipment, I was put to work helping with pre-testing. I found the experience to be very rewarding.

The dedication of our doctors reaching out to patients in need was inspirational and the patients were very grateful for the services being provided."

When not responding to disasters, VSP’s mobile clinics travel around the country providing charitable eyecare services and education at community events.  See the mobile response team in action during the Northern California wildfires.

Sight for Students®

Our Sight for Students program provides eye exams and eyeglasses to children of low-income, uninsured families. This program has helped more than 410,000 children receive free eyecare services since it began in 1997.
